Auxiliary Bishop, Virginia First Jurisdiction


Bishop Ronald A. Sewell, Sr. was born in Philadelphia, PA. He obtained his elementary and
secondary school education in the Philadelphia Public School System. In 1960, he joined the
United States Navy as an enlisted member and retired after 22 years of service as a
Commissioned Officer.  Bishop Sewell furthered his education attending Norfolk State
University and Old Dominion University.  He further studied at St. Leo College completing
courses in Old and New Testament Survey.  In 2000, he began studying at the University of
Biblical Studies and Seminary in Bethany, Oklahoma where he received a Bachelor of Theology.

In 2005 he entered the North Carolina College of Theology in Wilmington, NC, completing a Master of Arts and Doctor of Theology.  Bishop Sewell received his Christian education and ministerial education at New Community Temple, Church of God in Christ, under Bishop Ted G. Thomas, Sr.  He served under the leadership of Bishop Thomas for eleven years until he was appointed as Pastor of the Herald of His Coming Church of God in Christ.

On Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the 112th Holy Convocation in Saint Louis, Mo., he was elevated to Auxiliary Bishop



Evangelist, Dr. Alberta M. Sewell was born, reared, and educated in Philadelphia, PA.  She is a graduate of Overbrook High School and North Carolina College of Theology with a Masters in Christian Counseling.  Dr. Sewell is the eldest daughter of the late Mr. James T. Williams and Mrs. Margaret Burkett.  She is the  mother of four childeren, Ronald Sewell Jr, Donald A. Sewell Sr., Andrea Renee Daniels, and Sarah A-esha Sewell; and the wife of Dr. Ronald A. Sewell Sr., Pastor of the Herald of his Coming Church of God in Christ.
